Activating Parkinson Patients with Sensors (APPS)
Semester 6
Parkinson's disease patients deal with a variety of symptoms on a daily basis. These symptoms can be reduced with so-called cues (signals such as sound and vibration). During the APPS project we developed a modular system in cooperation with OnePlanet, Radboud UMC, ROC Rijn IJssel, and several Parkinson's patients. This system helps in daily life with reducing symptoms. By recognizing the symptoms with sensors, a cue can be sent to an actuator and the patient can be helped. The system is designed so that it can be set by the caregiver for the patient.
